Newest Hartley Addition

Adelynn Renee Hartley was born August 13 @ 11:25am. She was 7 lbs. 3 oz. 20 1/2 in long. She is so petite compared to what Cade was when he was born. She is so pretty!!! I'm so blessed with 2 wonderful children and the best husband anyone can ask for.

New Jersey Trip July 2009

Mom, Lyle, Stacey, Andrew, Cade and I went to visit Joe, Kelly and their new baby girl Abigail. We drove there and it took us about 12 1/2 hours. Cade was pretty good in the car considering he really doesn't care for car rides. We had a great visit with everyone. Cade LOVED the pool. I was concerned he wouldn't like it but he did. Here are some pictures.

Cade 3 Months Old

Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with this blog. Here are some of the pictures from Cade's 3 month old photos. He is now about 17 pounds, 27 inches long, and is trying to talk a lot. His daycare lady sold her house so we had to find another daycare to take him to, we are sad because we love Miss Debbie but we know that she will be happier down with her children in North Carolina. Jerome gets to stay home with him 2 to 3 days a week and I think that is helping him to bond with Cade. I'm working full time and for the most part back into the swing of things. Cade and I along with my sister and her son and my mom and step dad are driving to New Jersey to see Joe, Kelly and their new baby girl, Abigail Riley Hopkins. We are all very excited and can't wait to meet Abby and visit with Joe and Kelly. Cade, Andrew and Abby, will all be together so we will be taking lots of pictures. I will be posting pictures from our trip once we get back.

I'm still taking my classes towards my Masters and that is going ok, hard classes lately but I'm ok.

Cade Update & Pictures

Sorry I haven't had a chance to get pictures posted. I've not felt well in a long time. I went to the hospital twice now by ambulance with pain attacks and found out that I have gallstones and I have to have my gallbladder out. My surgery is scheduled for March 18th. Hopefully after that surgery I will start to feel like a normal person again.

Cade is doing well and growing more and more everyday. He will be 7 weeks old on Wednesday. Here are some pictures.

Cade Michael Hartley is here!!!

The pictures from the day of his birth will be posted shortly but here are some pictures that we took today.

We went to my appointment Tuesday January 20th @ 1:00pm and I was still dilated to 1cm but was in a lot of pain. I was sent to the hospital for induction. Got to the hospital @ 2:30pm and they hooked me up to all the monitors and I was having contractions pretty close together. I labored until Wednesday January 21st around 4pm and I was only at 5cm and had been there for almost 7 hours. The doctor, Jerome and I decided the baby was in a position not suitable for labor or he weighed too much and went in for a c-section. I had to be knocked out because I was feeling too much pain when they were cutting me, even though I had an epidural. I didn't get to see Cade born or any of the stuff that happens right after delivery, that made me really sad. Jerome was there but they had to get him out quickly so he was unable to cut the cord. I was in the hospital until Saturday January 24th.

We are home now and all doing well. I'm thankful for my mom being there through my labor and also thankful for my sister, brother-in-law, Dad and Step Mom for being here after I got home to help me out. I'm still really sore from the surgery and can't do a lot right now.

Baby Hartley should arrive soon

I went to my appointment on Friday and the doctor said she thought I would deliver next week. I'm hoping she is right because Jerome and I would really love to meet our son. Maybe my dad and step mom will be in Michigan for the birth. They are talking about driving up so they can stay as long as they want. I can't wait to see them because they were supposed to be here for Christmas but Lisa got really sick and couldn't make the trip. Say a prayer for Jerome and I that we will get through the next week or so and the birth of our son goes well.

37 Weeks

December 27, 2008, 37 Weeks. I'm hoping baby hartley decides to make his appearance soon because I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore. I've been battling horrible back pain and my ribs are badly bruised and that makes it hard to sit or lay down.

It was 60 degrees today and I wore short sleeves outside!!! So strange to think that we just got a ton of snow and now it's all gone and the sun is out and the snow is melting.

My Dad, Step Mom and brother Travis were supposed to fly to Michigan to visit but Lisa woke up Tuesday morning really sick and she didn't feel like flying and she didn't want to come up here and be around me so I wouldn't get sick. She was completely devastated that she couldn't be here for Christmas.

Jerome and I went to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on Christmas Day. This movie was good but I thought they could have added the content in half the time it was. Half way through the movie I was ready to go home and rest because it's hard to sit in one place for a long period of time. Christmas was really hard this year because we were not with family which is rare for me because family is so important to us. Next year we will make up for it and we will have our son with us too.

Christmas is almost here

It doesn't seem like Christmas, probably because I've been miserable lately and still have 4 weeks to go. The baby is still moving a lot so he must have some room left in there. At my weekly appointment yesterday the nurse said I was starting to thin out, so things are progressing as they should. I think my mom thinks the baby is going to be born around Christmas but I beg to differ. I think I will go into January but deliver before my actual due date. Jerome seems to like he will be born January 7th because there isn't a college bowl game that day!!!! He is scheduled to have the eye correction surgery January 9th so we will see what happens. They were really busy the first 3 months of the year so he had to schedule an appointment. My back seems to progressively hurt worse each day and I'm still not sleeping. I'm having the "fake" contractions that are uncomfortable. I'm nervous about knowing when I'm in labor and wondering if my water will break. My mom told me that her water never broke with us kids and my sister's water slowly leaked when she had Andrew. I guess time will tell. I'm going to have Jerome take some more pictures of my belly before I have the baby.

Updates

Apparently I have a problem drinking enough water because I was in the OB triage again on Sunday having contractions. They said I was dehydrated and that can cause contractions. The baby is still moving around like crazy but soon he will run out of room. This week I will be 35 weeks so not much longer before I get to hold our baby. We can't wait, especially Jerome.

32 Weeks

8 more weeks to go. I've had a rough week with this nasty cold and still trying to fight it off. My back is killing me and I'm not sleeping well at all. The baby is doing great. I think his feet are up in my ribs because the skin around that area is really tender. This makes it hard to sleep on my side because it seems to get worse when I'm laying on my side. Seems like every position I try doesn't help and to think there are women that have bigger belly's than I do, how do they handle being uncomfortable all the time. Jerome and I are now doing some inventory and making a list of the things we didn't receive at our baby showers, we want to have everything in order by Christmas just in case this little guy decides to come a little early. Harley is still trying to adjust to the apartment living and I know he misses being able to go outside and run around in a yard. Hopefully by the summer we will have a different place to live.
